1) What is MCLibraryInfo?
MCLibraryInfo is an IM (instant messaging) service that offers real-time
reference assistance to anyone who uses AOL Instant Messenger, GoogleTalk,
MSN Messenger, or Yahoo! Messenger.
2) What do I
need to do to get started?
If you already have an AIM or Yahoo! Messenger account, all you need to
do is contact at one of the following screen names:
AIM, GoogleTalk, Yahoo!
Messenger - MCLibraryInfo
MSN Messenger - mclibraryinfo@marietta.edu
You can now log into AIM, GoogleTalk, MSN Messenger, and Yahoo! Messenger via the web. You no longer need to download special IM software to your computer. To log into your IM account via the web, choose the appropriate link below:
- AIM: AIMExpress
- GoogleTalk: GoogleTalk Gadget
- MSN Messenger: MSN Web Messenger
- Yahoo! Messenger: Yahoo! Messenger
3) When is MCLibraryInfo
available?
During the academic year, MCLibraryInfo is available at the following
times:
| Sunday: | 1:00pm - 4:00pm, 6:00pm - 10:00pm |
| Monday - Thursday: | 9:00am - 5:00pm, 6:00pm - 10:00pm |
| Friday: | 9:00am - 4:00pm |
| Saturday | 10:00am - 1:00pm |
4) Who can use
MCLibraryInfo?
MCLibraryInfo is available to current Marietta College students, faculty,
and staff.
5) What about
privacy?
The Marietta College Library takes privacy seriously and acts in accordance
with the Code
of Ethics of the American Library Association. Although the library
will save a transcript of your IM session, the content of the transcript
will remain confidential.
6) What kinds
of questions may I ask?
The intent of MCLibraryInfo is to offer brief reference and research assistance
to Marietta College students, faculty, and staff. If you need more extensive
assistance, please stop by the library's reference desk. You can also

7) Where do I
go to offer feedback on the service?
Please send your feedback on MCLibraryInfo to MCLibraryInfo@marietta.edu.
