Interlibrary Loan (ILL): Requesting Books via WorldCat

Before you make an interlibrary loan book request, check to see if the item is available through at least one of these resources:

• Legacy Library
• OhioLINK

To request a book through WorldCat, do the following:

1. Go to http://library.marietta.edu and click on General Databases.
   
   
   
   
2. Once the list of general databases appears, click on WorldCat.
   
   
   
   
3. When you arrive at the WorldCat search screen, do a title search of the item you need, limit your search to Books, and click Search.
   
   
   
   
4. Your search results will likely include several different catalog records of the title you want.  Click on the result with the most number of libraries associated with it. 
   
   
   
   
5. When the catalog record of the item appears, click on Request this item via interlibrary loan.
   
   
   
   
6. Fill out the required information on the form and click on Submit.
   
   
   
   
7. WorldCat then notifies you that your request has been successfully submitted.
   
   

Once you have submitted your request, it will be received by the interlibrary loan staff person and processed.
