McCullough Research Fellowship: Applications

Information on the Bank of America/David and Rosalee McCullough Research Fellowship


Fellowship Application Procedures:

Application deadlines are February 15 and October 15.   Residencies must be completed within one year of the award.  

The McCullough Fellowship Selection Committee consisting of the Director of the Library, faculty members from the Departments of History and English, the Special Collections Librarian, and the Special Collections Manager will consider each cycle of applications. Awards are made based on their decisions.

Criteria considered include:

  • New historiographical perspectives provided by the proposed project
  • Relevance to the collections contained at Legacy Library
  • Expected quality of the proposed research and the possibility of publication, presentation, or exhibit
  • Capacity of the applicant to conduct the work proposed

Application packages should include:

  • A letter of interest: the letter should include present rank or status and institution name, title of the research project, description of the research project that also addresses the above criteria, the length of research (two or four weeks), and a schedule for completion of the residency. The application should be no longer than two single-spaced pages.
  • Current curriculum vitae.
  • Two letters of support from scholars familiar with applicant’s work.
