In December 2010, Robert and Shirley Showalter established the Kenneth E. Showalter '50 Special Collections Memorial Endowment. A portion of this endowment supports the Kennth E. Showalter '50 Special Collections Research Award. The award is presented annually to an undergraduate or graduate student who creates the best research project using the primary sources of the Slack Research Collections of the Legacy Library.
The award is a $500 cash award presented for work done during the current academic year.
Completed works in any form and in any field are eligible. In order to be considered, the work must
Works must be nominated by the faculty member for whom it was written. Each faculty member may nominate up to two works each year.

Nominations for the 2022-2023 academic year are due April 21, 2023.
