SPC for Faculty: Intro to SPC

Resources and services available to Marietta College faculty.

COVID-19

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are not currently able to host class in the Special Collections reading room. Special Collections instruction is available both in-person in your usual classroom and remotely via Zoom.

Many of our collections have been digitized and are available online via our Digital Collections. In some cases, additional collections can be digitized and added to the Digital Collections  upon request. Special Collections staff requires at least 3 weeks notice for all digitization requests.

Visit SPC

Bring your students in for an introduction to Special Collections and primary sources! Our general overview of Special Collections includes:

  • A visit to the Special Collections reading room where students will learn how to access our collections.
  • A brief overview of what special collections are and why they are important.
  • Students will work together to analyze primary sources.
  • The session ends with hands-on time with special collections materials in a variety of formats.

Materials and topics can be tailored to fit your course.

To schedule a session contact Special Collections Librarian Katy Scullin at ks006@marietta.edu or (740) 376-4464 at least 1 week before your desired visit.
