Please include the following in your message:

  • Building location
  • Area of library or room number
  • Computer number (look for sticker on the CPU)
  • Description of problem

Message example:
"I'm one of the student workers at Legacy Library. Computer WD16200 in the 1st floor information commons is frequently freezing. Thank you."

Flatbed scanners

On the 1st floor of the library, three workstations with flatbed scanners are available for patron use.  The scanners are all from the same manufacturer and therefore identical in terms of operation.  

Using the scanning software

The flatbed scanners at each workstation are operated using software on their associated PCs.  To access the software:

  1. Log onto to the PC using your MC email username and password
  2. Click on the EPSON Scan icon on the desktop.

Once you have opened the EPSON Scan software, you can make a PDF or an image scan.  

To make a PDF scan, do the following:

  1. Select the 'Office Mode' drop-down option.
  2. When the scan window appears, click on the folder icon to the right of the 'Scan' button.
  3. When the file settings window appears, set the image format type to 'PDF'.
  4. Click on 'OK'.
  5. Place document on scanner glass with one corner up against the arrow on the lower left.
  6. Click 'Scan'.
  7. Click 'OK'.
  8. The scan will be saved to your 'My Documents' or your 'My Pictures' folder depending on the what workstation you are using.

To make an image scan, do the following:

  1. Select the 'Office Mode' drop-down option.
  2. When the scan window appears, click on the folder icon to the right of the 'Scan' button.
  3. When the file settings window appears, set the image format type to 'JPEG'.
  4. Click on 'OK'.
  5. Place document on scanner glass with one corner up against the arrow on the lower left.
  6. Click 'Scan'.
  7. Click 'OK'.
  8. The scan will be saved to your 'My Documents' or your 'My Pictures' folder depending on the what workstation you are using.

To send a scanned image to your email account, do the following:

  1. Log into your MC email.  
  2. Click on 'New'
  3. Click on 'Attach', then select 'Computer'.
  4. Locate and select your document in the folder in which you saved it.
  5. Click 'Open'
  6. Send the email with the attachment to yourself.  Including a subject and message are optional.
